124 JBL SCS 8 loudspeakers are mounted in the Cube, supported by four Meyer UMS-1P subwoofers. All 124 SCS 8 speakers are independently addressable. The main 124.4 spatial audio system is supplemented by nine highly-directional, ultra-sonic beam speakers by Holosonic Research Labs. Four of the ultrasonic beam speakers are on pan-tilt arms, which enable directional sounds to be precisely located in the Cube. Eight high-fidelity, high-output loudspeakers freely move on stage for octophonic sound reproduction and complete the main set of transducers. The audio system currently requires a sampling rate of 48000 for multichannel playback. The system has been tested with both Max 6.1 and SuperCollider. Updates to technical specifications for the Cube audio system will be posted here as they become available.
