SEAMUS 2015 Call for Works
The theme of SEAMUS 2015 is “emotion and electroacoustic music.” We invite music submissions that address the conference theme from any number of perspectives. All other approaches to electroacoustic music are equally welcome, though we will give special consideration to submissions that directly address the conference theme.
Emotion and Electroacoustic Music
The highly technical nature of electracoustic music often leads to a discourse that favors ideas over emotions. In an environment in which the techniques of electroacoustic music are increasingly mature and accessible, we feel that it is an appropriate moment to provoke discourse on emotion in electroacoustic music. We are therefore especially interested to receive musical submissions that foreground emotional expressivity, deliberately depict emotions, or otherwise engage the question of emotion in music as an important aspect of the composition.
For more detailed information, please see the links for concert works, installations, and papers, workshops, and demos. The submission deadline has been extended to November 3, 2014. Please submit your work at the submission portal. Composers are invited to submit one concert work, which may be stereo, video, or fixed-media multichannel. Additionally one paper, and one installation may be proposed. An optional submissions procedure is available for fixed-media multichannel electroacoustic works. Please see this link for further details.
